Faster than a speeding bullet…

Another FO!
See Jayne, I did it! Thank you for your support.

This is a sock from a group in Ravelry. Barcelona from Mona Schmidt.

I’m really making some progress here, only one day for the end of the year and two WIP down.
Well, you know, got to go again!

Faster than a speed light...

I’ve been making an effort to finish all my UFO before the end of the year.
This is one of many, many in queue…

This pattern was taken from a shawl.

But since I only had 2 balls of this yarn, I decided to do a scarf. Very happy with the result, and the yarn is just fantastic.

It is from Sirdar, silky look. And this is the first and the last time that I will probably see this yarn, the shop where I got it, went on sale from night to day and closes the doors! Yes, good things always tend to disappear…

Got to go to my next project.

I must be losing my mind!

So this is the deal. I had some problems with the presents this year! Made a lot less that the ones that I was thinking, and the people that get them, wasn’t that happy about, I didn’t heard the ahhh, ohhh!

Next year I am going to give handmade things again. So I must start to plan them now, so I can do them big, so they can do a AHHH, and a OHH!

I just join in the Ravelry a group to do presents for Christmas the all year long. But I didn’t think it was enough, so I join a blog too, and then in a blog from a joiner from that blog made a post about two other Yahoo groups… This and this.

You may be confused now, but I was also confused then, so don’t worry :)
MG, I’m in so many groups now that probably I would pass more time posting and reading mails, then making things for Christmas!

But at the end I think it is going to be a good incentive to go.
So to who is interested go and check the links. There are a lot of ideas, good ones, and a lot of people tracking your work also! You may not go out of the track.
I think this is the first post without photos!

Sorry about that, I really don’t like to post whit out photos so here is something that I’m working now.

A rag rug got to find more damaged t-shirts to make the rag. If not let me take out some and then I will tell that they had a little hole! Where? There can you see it!

The Shinny Kitty

Finally it is done. Sorry about the quality of the photo, but I had to take this one during the night, so that Nicole didn’t see it. There are some beads at the front of the dress, i will try to take a better photo after Christmas. It is going to be one of her presents. Every time she sees the doll, she asks me if it is for her, shame. Now I can wrapped up and put under the Christmas tree.

Geometric Crochet

I just made two more Christmas presents. These are my little mini Geometric Pillows.

They just measure about 22cm; they are very cute for a girl’s room.

I’m not going to say more because the girls in question may read my blog, so that is it…
I made the same way has the Bobbles pillow, only this time I used geometric crochet to decorate the front.

Another purse that I made, this time no zipper, or Velcro. Just simple bobbles to close.

This is a pattern from Jezzeblog. You can get it for free and try. Simple, cute and very easy to do. I did mine flat, and with two colors, pink and blue. I guess I must try to practice the Turkish cast on, it is still a big confusion for me.

I would like to thank you all the people that answer me about selling my stuff. I know that it never gets paid, the time and the money that you put on the projects, but this is just for an extra cash to buy more yarn to make more projects. This is starting to be a round and round merry-go-round!
For now it is all.

Where can I get more time?

Well, time really goes quickly! We are so close to Christmas, and still I have so many things to do…

I’ve been busy with the mystery Socks, from the group in Ravelry, going slowly, for not more mistakes.

Probably they won’t be finished in time for me to post them in the group, but it really doesn’t matter. What really matters is that I prove to myself that I could do it, and I think that is the most important thing!

The Ivory coat for Nicole is going, a little bit slowly for my taste, but this is my first big small project, so I must be happy for that.

And now for some other things that I’ve been doing since the beginning of this week. Some extra Christmas presents, that just pop up. I’m still working on it.

So that is why the photos don’t reveal everything.

But I must say I’m very proud of what I’m doing, it is my creation, my design.

I’ve been thinking of opening a shop here on my blog. I would like to know from all my readers, what they think about it! And I also wanted to know, how you do it. Do you send an item already done, or just the pattern.
Let me hear from you….

Don’t leave a stain!

Here is a good idea for Christmas. Coasters...

Probably you’ve already saw it in the net, in millions and millions of blogs. But I’m going to post it anyway. Just because I think it is a very easy, fast and cute crochet work.
In the site you can also make in the knitting version.
I made many with some cotton. In the original pattern, they go with fabric underneath. I’m still deciding…

Got to go...

It's Christmas!

Officially, today is the first day of the Christmas season!

And with all the things that I have on needles, I arranged a little time to make this shirt, top and hat for my friend Barbie. I made some modifications in the pattern. You can get this pattern and 3 more dresses for Christmas in this site. For a quick search the numbers are 335, 336, 340, 341.
An update of my little garden!

So I wanted to present to you my best wishes for all this month.
Enjoy and have fun.

Busy bee

Last week I meet Ruth. She knits, and does a lot of quilting. It is amazing that we have meet on the net for several months now, but only now we had the opportunity to meet face to face. She only lives 20 minutes from me! Yes it is unbelievable. So I brought my two wilds, and she brought her gorgeous girl. The kids made a plot against us, and the meeting was a little bit of confusion! But at the end I was very happy to meet someone that has the same craft taste has mine.
The mystery sock went to the frog pond. Don’t worry about that, I will cast on again; it is just that I knew that I made a mistake on the last row of the pattern as I turned to the heel. So updates on that next week. But the good news about that is that now I can do the socks with no worry about the yarn. I managed to find another ball in the shop, and now I can make the two socks from two balls, cool.
Nicole doesn’t have a decent coat to wear! Yes can you believe it; mummy does a lot of knitting but no coat for the poor girl to dress. So I put my needles at work without seam, just top down. Here is my evolution so far.

I’ve frog this one also a couple of times, I’m taking the idea from a pattern of a coat for babies. So that is why I’ve froged so many times, I think now I’ve got the right stitches in the needle. Don’t you think my stitch markers are cute? Handmade of course. By me. Here you don’t find any of those for sale, and seriously, the ones that I see on the net, with the shipping and the currency of the coin, are too expensive. So I thought of doing some for myself.
So has you can see I’ve been very busy. But looking at the calendar we are only 3 weeks from Christmas, and I still have a lot of presents also to do.
HELP!

Mystery #3

The 3rd clue is done.

But deep inside I think I made a mistake, when I started the heel. Because of the pattern that I made in clue#2. Let’s see….
I did enjoy making this heel pattern, it is so beautiful!

Now isn’t nature beautiful!

Inspired by Jayne, I started to do my little garden. And you can see that is very small, but made with a lot of love. Sounded like melodramatic!
Those were seeds of parsley, and hopefully, we can start taking them out maybe in 1 or two weeks.
I’m going to try to choose a different variety of other seeds, and try to do the same. It will be fun, which is certain!

Mystery#2

So I finally finished the second clue of the Sock Knitters anonymous from ravelry!

Yes I had problems. Well I actually had a lot of problems!

I frogged this sock almost 10 times, but I was expecting some problems so I put a life line in the last round of the first clue, lucky me, maybe I was really expecting trouble!
I’ve never knitted something from a chart, and apparently from a chart working around is even worse!
Hopefully I had a big help from this spectacular lady. Yes thank you, with your explanations, by sending emails, one after another, I would never have done this mystery sock.
Now, here are the photos of the evolution.

Waiting for the 3rd clue now, let’s hope it doesn’t come in chart. But if it is in chart, I just have to put a life line, and had some extra laughs every time that I frog.

Mystery

Ok, so I’m just almost finishing the dress of the Pink Kitty, yes I know I should have done by now, but meanwhile; I just came across with a post of MsTarzan in her blog, and got curious!
Then I went to revelry and saw the group, and I just fall in love with the idea of knitting a pair of socks without knowing what was coming out of there! Just like the Monthly dishcloth (that I also belong to). So here am I trying to do socks, again.

Know do you want to tease me a little?
I went the past Monday to buy some yarn for the socks in question, but I only brought home one ball of 100g. I was so blind in buying yarn that I didn’t realize that I had to buy two balls, and not one. So now I’m doing the pair of socks, one from the inside, and the other from the outside, silly me!

And for the story to be more fun, I don’t have the needles for it, so the other sock is now in some extra needles waiting for their turn.

But there is more, the yarn that I bought isn’t for socks, is 4 ply, so I don’t really know how this is going to end, most probably I will have to frog everything, just because I don’t have enough yarn, or because this sock is for giant feet! So this is what it looks like with the first clue. I’m starting the second clue today. It is in a chart; I have never done something from a chart, just sit and relax from my next news from my adventure!

Crochet mini monster!

Tisane la chatte

This is a doll that I just started to do. This mousse, I’m going to call her Pinky mousse. And it is a mini monster, just because I’m using a very small needle, and the yarn is also very thinner.

I can’t remember how long I worked with such a small needle, long, long time ago. And it is getting fun, but the work is so small, and the entire crochet piece just goes around in my hands, like I’m touching in eggs, and afraid to break!

You can have a perspective of the doll here in this photo.

Well, better go and try to finish.
Nice weekend everyone.

Don’t judge by the cover!

Here is another good idea for Christmas.

The pattern can be found here. And seriously, some patterns came with colors that you just look and go to the next page! That was what was going to happen to this one, until I just turn my head to the bag of ELLE pure gold, and though that this may give a cute mini pillow! Remember the round pillow that I made? The photo in that site is in black and white, and really doesn’t give the credit that that pattern deserves. At the end I tried and it turns out pretty good.
This one is going to be a Christmas present for shore, and it already has a owner! Hehehehehe, she doesn’t read my blog, teenagers!

Time used: 1 day, with a lot of interruptions (remember I’ve got two little girls)
Changes that I made: I didn’t work turn like the pattern asked for. Always worked in slip st and chain in the next round to go up.

Then I made two parts for the back.

Join all the pieces with sc and then another round around with a picot.

The buttons where work with the help of this site.

I’m very in love with this project, and I truly believe that I’m going to make a couple of them to my girls and even for my room!

Cute man!!!!!

Sun = Happy

This weekend was a blast!
South Africa won the Rugby World Cup.
There were parties everywhere!
The temperatures here went to 30, so we had a little party in the kid’s pool!

It is amazing how a little bit of sun, and a good temperature does to the kids. They were having a big party. And that wasn’t enough, on Sunday we went to the beach also. Now today is raining! Yes we are starting to have a tropical weather, what can we do? Just take advantage of every single day has it comes.

On other news.

The turtles are going in the right way.

I’ve finishing my black bag. Remember the fat bottom bag? Well I finished but at the end it was just not my style of bag. So I frog it and made this one. I’ve used the all weekend, and it is still alive. I put some fabric on the inside; sorry about the photos but taking pictures of black things is a little bit tricky! For this bag I don’t have a pattern, it is really one of my inventions. But I can say I made two parts for the front and back. Then I made the side and the bottom all in one piece. Them I sew everything and made the handles. All the bag is crochet with sc.

More ideas for Christmas. Why don’t you make a scrubby to give to someone? You can find the pattern here.

See you on the other side...

Here comes the sun!

I’ve been inspired by the good days of sunshine and hot weather that started here!

And for that I made this cute flower for the fridge.
Just put same iman in the back, and back to the fridge she went!

To tell the true this was suppose to be a little doll, like the Fifi flower tote. But in the end I just looked at her and thougth this would do a nice decoration for my fridge door.

Soap sachet are other good idea for Christmas presents.

Everyone likes to receive some good smelly present! And you can make a thousand of them. They are so fast to make. I like them, and the proof is that I already made six to give it away, I will put one soap inside one, so that the person that gets them knows how it works, and the rest is going with out soap, like that the receiver can go and pick her private soap that she better likes it better.

The link is here.

Nice weekend
