Not that short, but very, very sweet!

I’ve been seeing this mini cardigan in crochet at the net for a long time from Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker, but never caught my attention.
Last week, while I was lost in the cables of the net, I saw so many photos of this project, and actually many of them were made for girls, that I thought of giving a try.
So with the some blue cotton, I made a vest.

Why do I never follow the pattern, well I don’t know, guess it is just me.
I don’t think the sleeves here would be nice.
Made a little longer.
Still deciding if I’m going to make some cords at the front to tie, or not.
For now it is going to be like this.
The lace pattern wasn’t so hard to do, actually after the second row I just made by heart, only stopping for the technical increases.

Although I have to say, I found a lot of mistakes in the pattern, well not really mistakes, but things that were supposed to be there and weren’t.
Well, never mind.
I like it
I know it is not for me.

She loves it!

I also did another pair of socks for A.

Another pair for the SAM6 for the August month!
See you all next time.

Maria

Long time no post!

But there is a reason for that; I’ve been knitting and crochet, and keeping me away more from the computer. I am thirsty to see all my works done. The ones already in needles, and the others that are in my mind.

So without any delay I present you Maria!
In Honor to my Mother Maria

Now let’s go to the story…

This pink coat was made by my mother, many, many moons ago. I was still at school. I still have it, I still wear it, and I simple love it.

Since I like this coat so much, and since I had that thicker grey yarn, that I was trying to do the Gilmore vest with it, I thought this yarn was perfect just to make a smaller coat.
And using the new methods from today (like no seam).

I’ve made this one, first the sleeves, and then put them aside.

Then I did the body, starting at the bottom and went up to the neck, in the middle I joining the sleeves, and that was it.

I was worried about the yarn, if it wasn’t enough, but at the end it was more that I needed!

Purl1, knit6, Purl1, basic stitch pattern.
Made the raglan sleeves.

I like it. I like it a lot.
And I’m happy, since the weather here is still cold.

Next post it will be about some Vest in crochet that is almost done.

Stay tuned…

I was Tagged!!!

I've been tagged for a meme by Cindy.

Here are the rules:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking to them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers blogs letting them know they've been tagged.

Six unspectacular quirks of mine:

1. I really don’t like bugs, all kind of bugs, I do believe they should stay on the outside of the house, and not get adventures (funny how I ended in Africa!)
2. I like to make list for everything, for the daily cleaning, for my knitting and crochet projects, and for more things that you can imagine (I never go to the end of the list, guess that is why they were invented!)
3. I always think there is something wrong with my car, always hear noises everywhere (maybe I don’t like the car, try to convince DH to get a smaller and more feminine one – yeah right!)
4. If you want to see my house shinning, just get me mad, and I mean really mad ( I just can’t stop cleaning everything around, that is my answer to not explode!)
5. I like to read in the bathroom, I think it is the quiet place in any house (every magazine, and book as a special place to be in my bathroom!)
6. I love to have the TV the all day turned on (I like sound; it gives me the feeling that the house is alive, silly!)

I am going to tag:

Sharon: Qessentiak

Shirley: Knookoumie

Pam: Mamagenerica

Jesse: Jezzeblog

Alice: Futuregirl

Rima: Yarnydays

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Pizza Time

This is what is going to start to happen here, on Sundays.

We are trying to get a tradition, of having pizza for supper.
And everybody must do their share.

I make the dough, and prepare all the ingredients, tops, downs, cheese and etc.

They just do their pizza as they want.

Bon Apetit!

N. Seamless Kimono

Another Project finish, BUT….

This one was done on Thursday night, and then I, the clever girl, wanted to Nicole to try it on Friday morning, but now the girl wanted to take that to school!
Without washing and no blocking, no nothing!

I said ok, at least I will see how long my work will survive in a school environment.

When she got home, everything was still in one piece, which means that I can make durable

wearables. But the bottom of the Kimono was curling out.

I did same lace at the finish, just to go on with the sides, like I also made lace at the finish of the sleeves. It really looked cute. But now I really don’t feel like undo the all thing, just to make some rows of garter st. I don’t want to do it!

So this should look like this…

And not like this!

Any suggestions?
I just forgot, I made all around a sc in crochet, but still it didn’t help.

Say bye, bye to the Gilmore Vest.

I do intend to make it, but not with the yarn that I was using.
Too thicker. This yarn definitely should be used for a cardigan, a small one, with some rib.
I just went to the net yesterday, and found an article about measuring your body and make a costume fitting.

I know they have been on the net for a long time, but it is easier to just pick up a pattern and just use someone brains!
I made the measures yesterday, and this is going to be my only project until is finish.
I’m trying to start to make more wearable’s things for us to wear, and not only for the house.
That was my goal for this year, and I’m think I’m going in the right track!
