Crochet Business Card Holder

Crochet Business Card Holder

Materials:
Yarn-ELLE Pure Gold DK, shade 29
4mm crochet needle
Tapestry needle
Rest of other yarns to make the flower
A little of fabric
Sewing needle

Pattern:

Chain 16
Make the first sc in the second chain from the hook (15sc)
Chain1, turn, sc in every sc
Work like this until you have 24 rows complete.
Cut the yarn.
Attached the yarn in the 6th sc from the beginning, slip st, make the first sc in the same chain and make 4 more sc, total of 5 sc.
Chain1, turn, sc in every sc.
Work in this matter until there are 6 rows done.

The main body is done.
If you fold it you can see that it is shaped to a little purse, and that the cards can go in there.
If you’ve got a different size of cards, you can add more rows, or more stitches, depending what you need to change.

Now let’s go for the interior of the holder.
Cut a piece of fabric with just half cm more than the size of your holder.

You can see that those rows from the top don’t have the fabric to go on. It isn’t necessary. This fabric it is only to go inside, to allow the cards to go inside and out easier.

Next step is to put pins in every single place to join the fabric and the crochet piece.
Just fold the fabric a little bit to the inside, and put the pin secure.

When the entire piece is secure you can start to sew all around.

I did it by hand. But you can use your sewing machine. As long as you use the same color as your crochet piece.

Now time to close the holder. I thought that if I made another sc all around it would make the holder bigger than it is intended to be. So I made with the same yarn a back and forward stitch. The sc from the outside of the holder is going to be free. So it really gives a nice view.

To attach the handle to the main body I sew some Velcro. I put the hard one on the main body, just because that piece can attached to everything that touches. So this way it can only be the handler.

This is how it looks after you have joined the holder all around. Can you see where I made the stitch? And it doesn’t look bigger.

Now to make some decoration for the top of the handler. I made this little flower, because it is for me. But you can make other decoration, or put a button, or whatever your imagination takes you to.

The cards are already inside

And viola.

You’ve got a pretty business card holder to put all your cards inside and shine when someone asks you for one card!

Factory...

I’ve not been posting about the things that I’ve been doing. But I’m still working in the back here!

My HF asked me to do, like a full plastic bag of turtles. He thought they were very cute to give away to all his customers!

So I’m feeling like a factory making turtles to everyone.

Some don’t have eyes yet, but I’m working on it.

I just have to say, that this little ‘toys’ are so easy to make, and very fast also. So if you’re thinking in giving something cute in Christmas time, this could be an extra present, just to make someone laugh!
The pattern for this little guy is here.

Did I already write that I’m feeling like a factory?

Yes, these are the purses that I’m working now.

The colors are just soft. And very fast also to make.

The decoration for the outside just comes out of my head. The i-cords are being made and only miss the fabric on the inside and the zipper.

And these are some extra decorations that I use to put out side of the purse.

No pattern to share here, but if you want to have a try just go to this site and you can get inspired to do something different like I did!

Factory, factory….

But on the other hand I’m trying to make a card holder.

I’ve seen so many on the net, but I really think there is something missing there. This is my little baby, from all the babies that I’m making.

No pattern from this one yet, it is still in my head, and can you believe it, it doesn’t want to come out!

Don’t forget Christmas is coming, and here are more ideas for all of you to grab….

Let me go to the corner of my factory…

Work it girl!

Socks and a little bag

The socks for MIL are done.

I just made and extra bag, with the rest of the yarn. So she can put them inside when she travels, or to put whatever she wants.

The pattern for the socks was from here, and the little bag is from here.

In the pattern for the little bag, that is to put some soap inside, I just double the stitches to make it wider.

And I had also to make her longer, so the socks won’t be outside, or too tight.

I also made 2 crochet chains, to the top of the little bag.

I really enjoyed doing this bag. It has a look of cetin.

This will be my first idea maybe for a Christmas present.

Since we are still in September almost October, you still have time to do a pair of socks, and a little cute bag to go with it!

Nice weekend everyone

And more...

Ok, so i've got more photos from this morning...

When she comes down the stairs and starts to look at the living room!

I think she thougth that Santa Claus came earlier this year!

And now that's it!

Happy birthday to you!

4 Years ago I had this cute, beautiful, and wild girl!
I’m getting old!

Today was only a party for the house.
So we had presents in the morning (no photos of that).

And in the afternoon we made a cake.

Yes child labor, what can I say!

So here are some photos.

The big party is for the weekend, with some kids, and the big kids (mummy’s and daddy’s).

So see you now, now...

New? No only old news!

I’ve been joggling from one project to another. I guess I’m on that fase that I’m not really satisfied with what I’m doing, or just getting bored! Or maybe it is something else…

Now news from the 9 to 5 socks. They are going, not yet to leave the house, but going inside my bag.

This is only the first sock that I’m still doing, let’s hope I don’t get to much bored to do the second one.

The boring continues.... with the square crochet pillow for the girl’s room.

Every now and then I pick up the work a little and then do little more rows, boring for now.

But I just wanted to show the detail that is going to allow the pillow to close.

Down you can see a giant granny square and on one top of the square I just made some plain rows on dc to go inside. More details later.

Not so boring.

Are the potholders that I’m doing now.

They are half citrus, they go to my kitchen, and I love them! I’m just doing the second one to be a pair. You can get the pattern from here.

But I really don’t like the way they look on the back.

I think I should put maybe some fabric just to cover those stitches and to give more thickness to the potholder.

So that is all.
For now….
