This was my second one, the first was a trial of error until i said enough!!!!
I like the final result.

Today i'm going to show some drawstrings bags that i made for a client

Two for two girls, with their favorite cartoon character, and with their names on.

And for two boys, only with the name on.

And here you can see how hummmy they look when full

You can use this bags for what ever you like, to pack toys, for socks, for changing clothes when going out, for whatever....

News from South Africa are the same, economic crises (that is a thing worldwide)
The season that never comes (I'm very tired of summer, i really would like the cold weather to come, and i mean NOW!!!!!)

Pencil cases!
Yes my friends, nothing extraordinary here, just simple pencil cases with a view.
These ones are for my daughters, they have so many pencils, and pens, and crayons, that every time they want something it becomes a mission to discover the where they are.
So that is the end of it!

On one side they have the window

on the other side they have their names, just in case they want to start a figth...

here you can see that a lot goes in there...

and finaly, they can find what they are looking for just to peep to the inside of the pencil case!

It gave me an enormous pleasure to do this pencil cases, although i had some difficulty when it came to aply the zipper on the side of the window, but i managed to do it.

So this year is the first year that we are going to use an Advent Calendar.
And not to break the home made plague, me and the girls made everything from scratch, using materials from home, and lots of imagination, next year will be better.

I think they did a great job.
They can't wait for latter to start to see what is in the first pocket....

I've been working with some fabric
Making experiences too
And this what came out of it

A nice Pencil and Notebook holder

I very happy with the results

But, there is always something to annoy me

You See those two pencils out of the holder, yes i didn't made the measure right, and they are out of there "nest" just because they don't fit inside!!!!!
Crappy job that i made.
Although i liked the result, I'm going to make another one, yes i do like to suffer....

A good experience that ended with success
Remember the potholder that i showed, i don't know maybe last month, well they are done finally. And these two goodies ended fine. No mistakes here, duhag!!!!

Back to normal life.
N is back in school, she was in toes to go back, i guess she got tired of seeing mummy watching to many football games on TV :)
And her Teacher, is expecting....
I can see myself doing a lot of goodies for the baby...

Hearts and mini bag

You can even hang them in the curtains, door, bed, realy everywhere...

Then i needed a mini bag just to take my drivers license, wallet and phone, when i pickup the girls from school.

Very andy, because i can keep my hands free.

Holidays...

Today is the first day of the winter Holiday for N.

Just because we have the world cup, and the government thinks it is wise for the kids to stay at home, please!!!!

Because of that she will be 5 weeks at home, what to do, no worries the teacher gave some extra work to do, Thank you :)

the weather is starting to feel a lot like winter, 3 days of sunshine and next a week of full winter weather, rain, wind, and a lot of atchums on the way...bless you.

the pots that i got, i maneged to finish 2, i only want to show them when they are all done. So please be tune.

Sometimes life just takes a turn, and we just have to go with priorities. It happened here, and the blog post had to stand in hold.

Although I've been making some little things, not much, but with utility for the house.

Started to make some potholders
This is the first one...
Hope to show the pair made in my next post.

Here I'm trying to make a granny blanket with some left overs that are just pile in the house.
Slowly but I'll get there...

And when i said that i was making small things, i wasn't joking.
This was the first attempt to make a bennie for N with the school colors.
But can you imagine, it doesn't fit her head!!!
And it is so ridiculous small that it doesn't fit A head too!!!!
What was i thinking...

Well the second one is on the way, and this time with the proper measures.

The first ones that i made was for personnel use.

I'm thinking in making some for sell.

I do think they do look cute, and they just give you that " je ne sais quoi!!!" to your look.

Handmade slippers

This morning, while i was reading my reader feeds, i saw this tutorial.
I look at the pictures, i read the explanations, and after so many disasters in making slippers for my girls, i decided to give another try.

That is the reason why they all pure plain, without any decoration.

Now that i got the measures straight, and the easy way to put it together, yes i will do another pair very pink, and with decorations falling to the floor!!!!!

Pillows

And the collection is complete

Made some butterfly's, my wish was to make a lot of bugs, but no imagination at this time.
So i think it is really cute.
The recipient liked it so much, that she sleep the all night with the pillow!!!!

And another one.
This one was a request from a friend that wanted to kidnap the flower pillow.
Made some stripes in different color, and voila.
I think it looks very fashion and stylish!!!

In other news, the cigarettes are still here. There are days that i don't smoke, and then there i go again.
I'm so tired of resetting the counter to zeros....
But the idea is here to stay...
Maybe another month...???

resolutions......

Now at the first day of this month i tried to make some resolutions for my self

i must quit facebook. It is horrible. I spend a lot of time on it, just playing, and that is all, I'm really addicted.
I will try to finish this foolish thing.
To all my game friends, well, there will be no more gifts from me, ta da!

Another resolution that i made was to stop smoking,
Man, oh man, that was very easy the first day, only 3 cigarettes, me that smokes an average of 15 per day!!!

But I'm almost at the beginning again, what am i suppose to do when I'm drinking a coffee, or when I'm in the PC, or when I'm just relaxing, I'm so used to a cigarette on the way....

So if someone has some kind of technique, or advice to give, please do.
No moral speech...that thing just gets me in my nerves, and you know what...another cigarette on the way...

Pillows

I'm in the wave of making pillows.

Maybe it is because i miss my old job...

I used to make zillions of them, Ha!

Here in South Africa is very hard to find that foam that makes the pillow in round shape. so i had to improvise with this one.

It is not bad, but it could be better with that special foam.
Oh well...

This one was made because of an accident!
It was supposed to be a cover for a book, but, me, je, i, made a mistake with the measurements, and already frustrated with the time that i spend with this work, decided to convert into a pillow.
It is really a micro pillow 20x14, but it is so cute.
At least i got inspiration for a bigger one...

Some experiences with fabric making necessaires do give and sell.
I've enjoyed every single one. But i felt in love with the last one. Although the measures for the sewing were a disaster, i felt in love with the chicks embroidery.

Just to say that I'm still alive, although the month of January for me is a completely disease!!!
Too much stress, too much worries to even have the will to post about anything at all!!!

Our Christmas decorations are all up

Yes our tree is under the stairs... this was the only available spot at the living room, and the safest one...dog+tree= trouble :)

These are some decorations that i had for the house, all hand made by my two little wilds

But when i look at front of the house, i can see some snow flakes in the window, and i think Christmas is fun.

Now for the end of this year, and for the beginning of the new one (I'm felling older!!!)
I cast on for the Chevron Lace Cardigan from www.milobo.wordpress.com.
I'm enjoying it, let's see how it turns out...

So must probably this is going to be my only post until Christmas, and maybe for this year.

Where can i find a 48 hour day???

I used to have a lot of time when i was single ;)

Then i got married and my time started to get shorter, but i still had time to do some crafts, and to read a book in the couch...

Then i had my first girl, the spare time here, went from 50% to 25%, it was OK... eventually you get used to it

Then i had my second girl, and oh boy, the word time, only appears in the dictionary, that's for shore!!!
I mean for me to be able to do some crafts i have to close them in the pantry, or sit them in a chair with a rope around, just in case... I'm joking!!!!
My spare time really went away, not even to read a book, even if i sit in a couch to watch a little of TV, give me 5 minutes, and the movie transforms to a cloud...

Wait A. is calling....

OK I'm back after 20 minutes, see this is what my day is all about...

So since this is the first day of the month of Dez.
And there will be 24 sleeps until Christmas (words of N.)
And because there will be 30 days until this year is a bye, bye
I decided to make a post, ha ha.

And because i don't like to make post with out pictures.

Here are two mini purses for coins.

This one has a free tutorial on the net.
I like it, but maybe next time i will try to make it bigger.

And tis one was for one of N. friends from school for her birthday.
I even did the embroidery name on it.
It looks so cute.

Now this looks like the movie Marley and Me..... But the names are a little different....

This little peaceful face that you see in the photo is already doing some of her own!!!

This is only one example of what is going on in this house now!!!

I've been arranging pants, sweaters, and all the possible clothes that you can imagine, BUT only from Nicole.
I don't know why, only her clothes have holes from the dog!!!

This is my imagination going wild trying to improvise to cover holes.

Mini felt picture

Remember the embroidery with felt from the last post?

So i made a picture, and it is already hanging on the hall...

Now, here is how i did it...
First i glue the back part of the fabric, in a very thick cardboard...
Then i made a nice finish with a darker fabric... (like a professional.... no?....)

Then i got some string, helped with two tiny rounds of felt....

And why not, my so proud label in the back...HA HA

Hope you liked my idea...

By the way i forgot to tell you that maybe my knitting mojo as return...
I'm starting with a triangular scarf, a very small thing, maybe that was my problem, after i did that huge cardigan, i got tired.
So I'm starting small again...

I've just finish this mini embroidery and felt work.
I enjoy it very much.
Is already out of that wood frame, and glued in a very hard cardboard paper, in a 10 x 12 cm.
i was thinking of doing a picture with it.

Ballet bag and other stuff...

I think I've lost my knitting mojo somewhere...

So to compensate I've changed to fabric.

Don't ask me what happened, i just don't feel like it. This as been for several weeks now.

Not happy about, knitting and crochet do have importance in my life, i like to watch TV while doing it.
And actually lately I'm a little bit frustrated, because keeping my hands busy while watching TV doesn't let me to fall a sleep in the middle of a movie!! It is my therapy...

I also like to sew, but don't have TV were the sewing machine is...

So lately I've been doing some mini work with fabric, for our necessities.

N. needed a little bag for the ballet clothes.

The embroidery was made a long time ago, and i just made it applique in the front.
With two little hearts hanging, cute :)

Now, to the testing...
Tried to make a market bag, with a way to keep it tidy inside my bag.
This was the result...

Just for you to see how small she goes...

And just to show, that a long time ago, make two months ago i made these cute room slippers in crochet.

From this book, that i got for the local library.

The book has some very good ideas, a little bit old, but that is all you can get in the local library.

This was my finish project that I wear yesterday.

Start date: 24 of April.

Finish date: 19 of July

Here is a detail of how i did the button hole, with a crochet chain.

Here is the detail of the sleeve, plain and simple.

Since I had to put the mystery project in the middle (my first xaile), this one took a little bit longer.

I saw the pattern lace in Purple Haze...love it. But I couldn’t see a cardigan on me full of lace, not yet, so I decided to improvise totally.

And this is the result.

It is almost Friday and I’m still on the 4 clue.

Tomorrow the seven clue, and last one are out, and I’m so far behind!

I’ve got my doubt about this xaile. He looks a little small. Let’s see when I’ll finish the last clue if I see that he is small, I have to frog it and just do some repeats of some clues.

Making experiences with fabric

Tried to make this little cute basket, the pattern of how to do is here, and you really can’t go wrong!

I was so happy, that i made another one, Ha ha.

Then i tried to make a bird, yes this was supposed to look like a bird, i realy can’t see there a bird, but that is just me!!

Someone thougth it was very cute, but still it didn’t went to the toys room.

Made also this chicken mobile for the girls room.

Put some beads in between the chickens.

It was fun to do, this one i like how it looked at the end. Next time must try to make in fabric.

Made also this little apron for the bottles of wine.

This is a good idea to give to someone when you go to to their house for dinner, quick to make, and the owner will be happy.

But all this post comes to a conclusion. Lately i just fall in love with Tildas.

Love the colors that they use, love the decoration that they present, and just because it isn’t too girlish. You can adapt the pattern to your how convenience.

I’ve already made some litle experiences, but that will be a mather for another post.

Mistery Project, my first xaile.

This is the second project that i make for the site tricoteiras (a Brazilian site)

They just give us part of the pattern per week, and that is it.

Just a note: the true color of the xale is in the first photo.

I always had the idea that shawls were for old people, yes you can buuuu-me.

But I’ve seen so many wonderful projects in the net, with such wonderful designs, that I really want to try one for me!!

After all it became fashion!!!

The winter is starting to give his appearance, and some warm clothes are always welcome.

How to make the legs of pants longer.

Another transformation, from old to new.

These ones I really don´t understand. They are too short to be pants, and too long for shorts.

So since Nicole needs some more pants, and they have the perfect size in the waist, I decided to make a plan to make them longer in the legs.

I’ve cut 2 rectangles of fabric with the double of the measure of the pants.

And join to the fabric to the pants with some ruffles in the fabric, and on top I’ve put some bias tape.

Now to take the most advantage of the pants I put their hem down, you can see the photo that white line, so I just sew on top another bias tape.

And that was all.

She gave the highest score for the new pants. And I’m happy to be able to restore old clothes, and give them a new extra look.
